As a part of the grant writing team, Sophie brings her extensive knowledge and background to help clients secure grant funding. In addition to grant support, she also works on housing needs assessments, feasibility studies and business plans (with a focus on incorporating Medicaid revenue projections into operating proforma), and Crisis Now implementation in Alaska.

Prior to joining Agnew::Beck, Sophie worked as a direct service provider at an Anchorage community-based reentry center. She then went on to work in policy, first as a legislative aide for the state legislature in Juneau where she worked on mental health and Crisis Now policy and then as a legislative editor for the Colorado legislature’s nonpartisan legal department where she worked on housing and tax policy. Sophie’s multi-disciplinary background provides her with a unique view of how direct service provision and policy systems interact and allows her to work with a diverse clientele across a range of projects at the nexus of public health, housing, and criminal justice reform.

Sophie is an avid outdoors enthusiast, who loves skiing, running, and mountain biking. When she’s not taking in the grand Colorado scenery, she enjoys spending time at home with a good book and her dog Oscar.
